Service Description

We'll guide you through some of the many different breeds and the variations between the heritage, fibre, milk or meat breeds. Best practice of husbandry, environment, feeding and common ailments will be covered. Legalities such as tagging, movement licences and registering your holding will also be explored. We'll discuss breeding and kidding, if you're lucky you may even see some of our own kids being born (dependant on time of year). You'll also be given the opportunity to milk or hoof trim following a demonstration. Please wear suitable clothing for the weather, which you wouldn't mind if it got dirty of damaged, and sensible shoes such as wellies or walking boots. Refreshments will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch with you. If you or your partner are pregnant, please see advice on the NHS website relating to contact with farm animals during pregnancy.
